If you are a current homeowner and have owned your present home for 5 years or more, you may qualify for a tax credit up to $6500 to sell your current home and buy another one. Certain restrictions do apply but this new tax credit was passed by Congress to not only stimulate the economy and increase real estate sales but it was done to give current homeowners an incentive in addition to the tax credit for first time buyers! $8000 for 1st Time Buyers

If you contract to buy a home prior to April 30, 2010 and close prior to June 30, 2010, you can receive up to $8000 as a tax credit if you are a first time homebuyer or if you have not been in a homeowner (holding title) for mroe than 3 years. Since interest rates are so wonderful, you should get a mortgage if at all possible but this tax credit is available on a Land Contract that meets certain criteria. Down Payment Assistance Available!

We thought it was gone – but naught! IF you are purchasing a bank owned property, the State of Indiana may have additional funding to help you take that home off the long list of bank owned properties and actually pay you up to $15,000 for down payment assistance. “Definitely” there are restrictions but call me today and we’ll see if you and the home can qualify!
